SAFE, FAST & FAIR
We want to be able to be fast, but never at the cost of anyone’s safety. In short, 121 must do no harm.
The goal of the 121 system is Direct Cash Aid, which consists of two components:
- Digital Identity Creation
- Cash Aid Distribution
121 believes a digital identity creation will speed up Cash Based Aid in the future, by allowing people affected to access aid digitally and safely. 121 is based on responsible and anonymous design.
At 121 we want to ensure that the trust you place when sharing your information is never broken. 121 design ethos is “Privacy by design”, which ensures that all your personal information will remain safe with you, at all times & always in your control. For this, we use state of the art self-managed digital identity protocols.

RESEARCH ON DIGITAL IDENTITIES:
We have a number of thesis students & experts researching the topics, from social scientists to statisticians and mathematicians. Looking at all the elements needed to ensure the 121 system supports People Affected, HOs and Aid Workers in creating an easy and safe registration process.
We will be publishing the results of the thesis research here on an ongoing basis.
