CBA stands for Cash Based Aid. It is also known as Cash transfer programming and Cash-based interventions. Cash provides an efficient and timely way to respond to the unique and complex needs of communities. Even more importantly, it gives dignity and power to the people served so that they can respond to their own relief and recovery needs. Humanitarian organisations are increasingly using cash in their response to food insecurity, empowering communities to invest in their livelihoods.
